On the 22 October 2027, during COP17, the ISSB released the Exposure Draft IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Practice Statement 1: Nature-related Disclosures and is now seeking feedback until 19 February.
This presents an important opportunity to shape how nature-risks are integrated into sustainability disclosures. It also raises important questions about implementation:
- How can organisations identify which nature-related issues are material to their business?
- How can they assess whether their business model is nature positive or explore alternative business models options?
- What information and assessment approaches are needed?
- How can disclosures reflect the location-specific nature of biodiversity and ecosystem dependencies?
- And how can disclosure requirements remain proportionate while providing meaningful information to investors?
These are the practical challenges that the A-Track project seeks to address by bringing together expertise across natural capital assessment, biodiversity information, business transformation and sustainable finance. To support this evolving conversation, the project consortium is developing a dedicated briefing on the proposed Practice Statement, to be published on 1 December.
This briefing will explore the proposed Practice Statement guidelines and requirements and their implications for business and finance, while highlighting relevant A-Track resources, research, tools and insights that can help organisations understand and respond to emerging expectations around nature-related disclosures and support the development of nature-related disclosure requirement.
By connecting the global policy and reporting landscape with practical knowledge and expertise from across the A-Track community, the briefing will provide a useful foundation for organisations looking to move from understanding nature-related risks and opportunities to integrating them into decision-making.

A-Track partner Capitals Coalition is bringing together perspectives from business, finance, research and policy through its webinar, A Global Baseline for Nature Disclosures: Exploring the ISSB's Practice Statement, which will take place on the 1 December (If you are registering for the event on behalf of someone else, please open the form in an incognito window).
The webinar will introduce the ISSB's proposals, examine their implications through the five critical success factors identified in the Capitals Coalition briefing, and explore perspectives from different sectors and jurisdictions. You will hear from members of the ISSB board, TNFD, Capitals Coalition and prominent members of the business, finance and public sectors as they discuss the importance of this Practice Statement. The ISSB consultation closes on 19 February 2027.
If you have questions or thoughts that you would like to contribute to the discussion, please fill in this form to share with Capitals Coalition.
For the A-Track consortium, this is an opportunity not only to contribute to the evolution of global baseline for nature disclosures, but also to ensure that emerging approaches are grounded in practical experience, robust evidence and the needs of those using nature-related information to make decisions.
Better disclosure is important. Halting and reversing biodiversity loss is the ambition.
